WE ARE RETURNING TO CHURCH SERVICES STARTING
SUNDAY, JUNE 14TH
I hope that you are as excited about returning to church as we are.  The services are on a trial basis and we are counting on each of you to help us all stay safe.  The virus is still out there, and for that reason we will be following the Illinois Department of Public Health recommendation for gatherings.  The recommendations can be found at http://dph.illinois.gov/covid19/community-guidance/places-worship-guidance .  Here are the points which we feel are the most important to a successful reopening of your church.
If you are not feeling well, please stay home.  Call the church and we will pray for you. Please wear a facemask; remember you are protecting those around you whom you love. Wash and sanitize your hands frequently. Don’t touch your face.  The virus does not enter your body through your skin. Practice social distancing; keep that six-foot space between you and your co-worshiper.  We will be speaking the liturgy rather than singing. Songs will be at a minimum, however, there will be music. The only doors that will be unlocked will be the south main entry doors, please enter there. You will be ushered in and out of the church, so please be patient. Before and after church, while outside please remember to keep social distance. We will not be passing the offering plate, rather an offering plate will be near the last pew. Communion will be by Station with a wafer in a paper for you to pick up and wine cups spaced out on the tray to prevent accidental touching. If you do not feel safe in attending worship, we will still be recording portions of the service, so they are accessible to you.
This trial for Sunday services only will determine how quickly we return to all familiar services.  If we do well and don’t see any spikes in the number of COVID-19 cases, then we may be able to ease some of the restrictions.
If things don’t go so well, we may have to return to the recording of the services.
For COVID-19 tracing purposes, we would like for you to email or phone the church office if you plan to attend any services--until we are no longer required to do so tracking and tracing purposes. Of course, if you don’t call and still wish to attend, please do so. We are just trying to be as safe as possible.
One final note, we look forward to Brian’s ordination later this month and having him with us in the pulpit beginning July.
